A Determined Step ....
Yes ... to start a blog of my own was quite a determined step ! This idea of starting a blog, a place where I can write whatever I wish to, whenever I feel like was quite fascinating for me. My good friend Nachiket Vartak had introduced me to blogger.com through his blogs. So, finally it was yesterday that I decided to create one for myself ! ... and the place couldn't have been better than a Mumbai Local Train when I took the decesion !! .... you would wonder why so? ... to understand that you have to be living in Mumbai and travelling by the local trains; specially fast trains ...... to me ... local trains are like the best place for introspection, for having a little time of your own .... in the crammed up compartment of these local trains somehow everybody manages to find niche of his own .... such is the rhythm of life in Mumbai ... and if you can deal with it then nothing better than that .... welcome to the most lively & warm (i mean it both ways !) city in the world !
Anyways, coming back to the whole decision making stuff .... why is it such a big deal for me ? afterall it's just a blog ... a place to punch in a few lines ..... agreed .... but, for me it is something more than just a webpage on this WWW ... I had few 'not so nice' memories related to writing a diary in perticular ... so, that's why I was being little too reluctant in making a blog of my own ... and that is why " making a decesion " .... anyways .. so much for the reasons ............
let me just tell you a little bit about myself ..... i am amar ghaisas ... from thane>mumbai>maharashtra>India. Currently doing a Maters' in Life Sciences with specialization in Neurobiology. Graduated from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. Schooling from Dr. Bedekar Vidya Mandir, Thane in vernacular medium (marathi). I am a maharashtrian ... my mothertongue is Marathi. and I love typical Maharashtrian food .... vada-pav an all time favorite.
I am a person who loves writing .... i write snail-mails to some of my friends .. i just love snail-mails .... sometimes write poems too (pretty amature stuff ) ... like to read a lot (my mother's gift to me !) .... blah blah blah ....
I would like to close todays blog by writing the best thought that came to my mind today in a local train ..... " Never end a day without taking a stock of what you did today. It is just as important as your regular meals ....... just ask yourself how many "useful" (not "good" but "useful" !!) things you did ... and how many "rubbish" things were done ? ... did I achieve smoething today ? did I go a step forward or backward in whatever I have been doing ..... how can I improve on my day's "performance" ? ....... " ... these questions may seem to be very funny and even impractical ... but on a random day when you think of them and try to answer each one of those ..... they surely take you by surprise ! ...... according to me such ' fruitful fifteen minute introspective sessions ' help you immensely in making yourself a better person ! .... and who dosen't want to be one ? ..... well, atleast I DO !!!
we will meet again with another leaf of that "thought-tree". till then take care .... bye !
Amar.
